Deadly Ontario Collision Leaves Multiple Injured or Dead

A serious collision in Wellington County, Ontario, has claimed multiple lives and left several others with severe injuries. The crash occurred Friday evening when a van carrying nine occupants collided with an SUV occupied by one person. The incident took place at the intersection of Wellington Road 12 and Fourth Line in Mapleton Township, an area northwest of Guelph.

Emergency services responded to the scene, with three patients airlifted to trauma centers and others transported to local hospitals. The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have stated that all 10 individuals involved in the crash sustained injuries or died. Wellington County OPP Constable Matt Burton described the event as a "serious collision resulting in multiple injuries and fatalities."

The OPP's traffic incident management and enforcement team is now involved in the investigation. Authorities have not released further details as they focus on notifying the next of kin. The intersection remained closed on Saturday as investigators meticulously examined the scene.
