Deadly weekend on Israeli roads leaves two dead and six injured

Two people were killed and six others injured in traffic accidents across Israel over the weekend, including a fatal hit-and-run and several serious motorcycle crashes.

On Saturday, a man in his 40s died after being struck on Route 553 near Moshav Porat. Magen David Adom paramedics found him suffering from severe multi-system trauma with no signs of life. A woman in her 30s was arrested shortly after leaving the scene and taken for questioning.

A 48-year-old motorcyclist was killed overnight Friday while riding on Highway 7 at the Sorek Interchange. In Pisgat Ze'ev, a vehicle struck a 4-year-old boy near his home's parking area. The child was taken to hospital in critical condition.

Other crashes caused serious injuries. A two-vehicle collision on Route 3755 left a 50-year-old man seriously injured and two other people with light to moderate injuries. Firefighters had to free two victims trapped inside their vehicles. Near Caesarea Port, a 30-year-old man suffered critical multi-system injuries, while a motorcyclist in Netanya was seriously hurt after a car struck him.

MDA paramedic Orian Lukac and senior EMT Maor Nino said the Netanya motorcyclist was unconscious with a severe head injury when emergency teams arrived. They treated him and took him to hospital in an MDA intensive care vehicle in serious condition.
