Deceased man identified by Winnipeg police, family notified

Winnipeg police have identified a man who died after officers found him unresponsive last month, and have notified his family.

Officers located the man at the corner of Main Street and James Avenue on July 28. He died in hospital the following day, the Winnipeg Police Service said in a news release.

Police had issued a composite sketch to help identify him. Those efforts succeeded, but the service said it would not release further details about his identity out of respect for his family.
