Defense Industry Chief: Ankara Summit to Symbolize New Era for NATO

Haluk Görgün, President of Turkey's Defense Industry Agency (SSB), declared that the Ankara Summit will symbolize the beginning of a new era for NATO. Speaking at a defense industry reception during the NATO Summit, Görgün asserted that the Defense Industry Forum is a landmark event.

He noted that the world is undergoing significant transformation, making it imperative for NATO to adapt. Görgün stated that future NATO histories will dedicate a special section to the Ankara Summit, emphasizing the forum's role in ushering in a new period for the alliance. He highlighted the evolution of this initiative through previous summits in Vilnius, Washington, and The Hague.

Görgün also praised Turkish Aerospace Industries (TUSAŞ) for its over 50 years of service to Turkey and its allies, contributing across various sectors from aircraft structures to satellite technology. He specifically mentioned Baykar Technology's critical role with its unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) in Ukraine, noting the positive reception of the KIZILELMA drone at the forum. The event showcased not only aircraft but also advanced Turkish defense systems, underscoring the importance of establishing a secure and resilient supply chain for inter-allied defense industry cooperation.
