Delcy Rodríguez announces master plan for El Junquito parish

Venezuela's acting president, Delcy Rodríguez, unveiled a comprehensive master plan to revitalize El Junquito parish, located in the Libertador Municipality. The initiative aims to reactivate the area after it was impacted by a significant earthquake on June 24.

Rodríguez described the plan as a blueprint for El Junquito's rebirth, stating, "This parish will be reborn, from the rubble, hope will be reborn. We will have fields for cultivation, spaces for entrepreneurship, for commerce." She made these remarks after touring the affected zone, emphasizing the goal of planned tourism, agricultural, and commercial activities.

To bolster economic activity, the government will provide financial support to local businesses. Additionally, a contingency bonus is being coordinated to offer extraordinary income to individuals affected by the natural disaster. Rodríguez also announced a national design competition for the master plan, inviting engineers, architects, and soil study experts to contribute to the reconstruction efforts in both La Guaira state and El Junquito parish.

The announcement follows an inspection of structural rehabilitation work being carried out under the "Venezuela Renace" (Venezuela Reborn) plan in areas affected by the tremors.
