Delta orders arrest of suspects over attack on gov’s aide

The Delta State government has ordered security agencies to apprehend and prosecute those responsible for a violent attack on Simon Mudi, alias Temple, a protocol aide to Governor Sheriff Oborevwori. The incident occurred during a Delta Central APC Stakeholders' meeting last Sunday at the Petroleum Training Institute in Effurun, Uvwie Local Government Area.

Mr. Charles Aniagwu, the State Commissioner for Works (Rural Roads) and Public Information, disclosed the government's directive in a statement. The state government expressed deep disturbance over circulating videos of the assault, describing the attack as "unacceptable and a threat to public peace." The videos show Mudi being repeatedly attacked by armed youths, sustaining life-threatening injuries.
