Delta speaker urges lawmakers to prioritise good governance

Dennis Guwor, Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, has called for unity and a strong commitment to good governance as the House begins its Fourth Session. Addressing lawmakers during Tuesday's plenary, Guwor stressed the importance of staying focused on their constitutional duties and fulfilling the expectations of the people.

Guwor expressed gratitude for the lawmakers' safe return after the legislative recess, viewing the new session as a significant opportunity to enhance the assembly's contributions to peace, development, and prosperity in Delta State. "As we begin this Fourth Session, I urge all Honourable Members to remain steadfast, focused, and dedicated to the discharge of our constitutional duties," he stated.

He acknowledged the high expectations of the public, emphasizing that enacting laws and legislative actions that promote peace, prosperity, and good governance across Delta is a collective responsibility. The Speaker urged the assembly to build upon its past achievements and pursue initiatives that would directly benefit the welfare of the state's residents.
