Demi Moore secures major pay raise for 'Landman' season 3

Demi Moore has negotiated a substantial salary increase for the upcoming third season of Taylor Sheridan's series "Landman," positioning her earnings to match those of lead actor Billy Bob Thornton. This significant pay bump comes as a result of a unique two-year contract that allowed Moore to renegotiate her terms before the third season.

Under the new agreement, Moore is set to earn between $740,000 and $770,000 per episode. Her previous contract, unlike those of some of her co-stars, was for two years, which provided her with the leverage to seek a higher salary for the subsequent season. In contrast, Thornton, who plays the series' protagonist Tommy Norris, a petroleum company executive, is on a three-year contract. This means he will only be eligible to renegotiate his salary after the third season, assuming the show is renewed for a fourth.

Other members of the "Landman" cast who also had two-year contracts have reportedly concluded their negotiations, with most securing raises by April. Ali Larter, who portrays the ex-wife of Thornton's character, recently finalized her negotiations and is now expected to earn over $350,000 per episode, more than double her previous rate. Additionally, Michelle Randolph and Jacob Lofland, who play the adult children of Thornton and Larter's characters, have also received raises, with each now earning between $130,000 and $180,000 per episode, also representing more than a twofold increase.

"Landman," set in the world of the Texas oil industry, has been a critical and commercial success for creator Taylor Sheridan since its premiere in 2024. The first season featured Jon Hamm as company owner Monty and Moore as his wife, Cammy, who takes over the company's leadership after Monty's death. The series has also attracted other notable actors, including Sam Elliott as Thornton's father and Andy Garcia as a financier and cartel leader. Guest stars have included Michael Peña, Emilio Rivera, and Robin Lively.

Moore's salary increase comes months after co-writer Christian Wallace offered an ambiguous response regarding her character's potential return for the third season. The second season concluded with a fierce power struggle between Cammy and Tommy, leading to their business separation and casting doubt on Cammy's future presence in the series. When asked about Moore's return in January, Wallace told The Hollywood Reporter that "there are many different possibilities and directions the story can go."
