Democrats Urge Trump to Halt Iran War After US Troop Deaths

Amid growing anxiety over climbing casualties, Democrats are urgently calling on President Trump to reverse his decision to resume hostilities with Iran, particularly after three US service members were killed. The deaths have intensified calls to end the conflict, which reignited after Trump withdrew from a prior agreement with Iran.

For those of us who pay attention to the hour-to-hour pace of the Iran War, things are getting very dark very quickly. The scale of attacks – and threats of escalation – are increasing rapidly.

The Pentagon identified two of the fallen soldiers as First Lieutenant Tyler James Feehan, 25, from Hawaii, and Private Isabella Gonzales, 19, from Texas. They died in a strike on the Muwaffaq Salti air base in Jordan. A third service member was killed in Iraq during what the US Central Command described as a "controlled detonation" of unexploded ordnance. The remains of a possible fourth service member were discovered in Jordan over the weekend.

House Democratic leader Hakeem Jeffries criticized the war as "reckless and costly," while Senator Mark Warner questioned the necessity of the conflict, stating there was "no imminent threat from Iran." Senator Chris Van Hollen has introduced resolutions aimed at ending the campaign without congressional approval.
