Denied US tour permission, Telangana CM Revanth Reddy to return to Hyderabad

Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy is cutting short his international trip and returning to Hyderabad on August 23, following the Indian government's refusal to grant him permission for a proposed visit to the United States. The Chief Minister expressed his gratitude to Congress national president Mallikarjun Kharge and other party leaders for their support, characterizing it as being in the "national interest."

Reddy alleged that the denial of clearance for his US tour was based on "political reasons." He stated that he had fulfilled all his scheduled meetings and engagements in London and was thankful for the support received during his three-day stay there. His original itinerary included travel from London to Boston.

Following the Ministry of External Affairs' decision, Reddy announced his return to Hyderabad. He indicated that he would provide a detailed explanation of the issues surrounding the denial of permission once he reaches the city. The Centre had reportedly cited a lack of "political angle" and that the event was not appropriate for a Chief Minister's office as reasons for the denial.
