Denmark's Poison Control Line (Giftlinjen) is observing a concerning rise in calls related to young individuals ingesting caffeine pills and pre-workout supplements. These products, often used to enhance athletic performance or combat fatigue, are leading to significant health issues, particularly among adolescents.

Søren Bøgevig, a senior physician associated with the Poison Control Line at Bispebjerg Hospital, stated that these substances can induce pronounced and problematic symptoms. Nausea and heart palpitations are among the common complaints reported by young people, some as young as 14, who consume these products, often in conjunction with physical training.
