Vasil Kušej marked his first goal for Liberec by deciding the derby against Jablonec. His superb strike from outside the penalty area secured a 2-1 victory and sent Slovan into second place in the league table.

Kušej had earned his first point for the club in the previous round. This time, he went further, scoring the goal that settled the match on Jablonec's pitch.

After the win, Kušej joked about whether the club owner would reward the team for taking the derby. He also stressed the importance of the result: "They are extremely important three points for us. We came to Jablonec to take them, although our performance was not optimal at all and we were on the back foot for the whole match."

The victory gave Liberec a major boost in the standings, even though Kušej acknowledged that the team had not controlled the game.
