Design and Computer Science Programs Demand Highest Entry Grades in Denmark

Aspiring students aiming for the design program at Design School Kolding or the English-language Computer Science degree at Aarhus University face the highest admission grade requirements in Denmark for the 2026 intake. Both programs share the top spot with an admission quotient of 11.4, according to the latest figures from the Ministry of Research, Education, and Digitalization.

The design program in Kolding, which began admitting students via the "Kvote 1" (grade-based admission) system in 2022, enrolled 80 students this year. However, the majority of students are typically admitted through "Kvote 2," which includes practical tests and interviews. Meanwhile, the English-language Computer Science program at Aarhus University, launched just last year, has quickly gained popularity. It received 766 applications, with 354 listing it as their first choice, but only admitted 27 students due to limited capacity.

Aarhus University advises prospective students to consider applying for the Danish-language Computer Science program if they wish to increase their chances of admission, as all applicants for that program were accepted, and places remain available. Following the top two programs, Data Science at Aarhus University and the Midwifery bachelor's program in Copenhagen also demand high academic achievement, requiring an average grade of at least 11.2 for Kvote 1 admission.

Other sought-after fields this year, based on admission quotients, include Psychology, Molecular Biomedicine, and International Business. These figures highlight the competitive landscape for higher education in Denmark, particularly for specialized and English-taught programs.
