DF has learned to adopt the victim role from the woke left

The Danish People's Party (DF) should cease adopting a victim mentality and refrain from blaming the "woke left," media, and the system for any criticism it faces, according to a commentary in Berlingske.

The author, Louie Skougaard, a member of the Conservative Youth, argues that merely being criticized does not automatically make one a victim. He points to DF chairman Morten Messerschmidt's recent actions as an example. Messerschmidt hosted Vladislav Dajković, a Montenegrin politician known for pro-Russian and NATO-critical viewpoints, at Christiansborg. The visit concluded with Messerschmidt offering Dajković an encouraging "go win."

When the matter came to light, Messerschmidt explained that he was unaware of Dajković's specific stances and should have conducted a background check. Skougaard suggests that instead of mirroring what he describes as one of the left's "worst habits", that of playing the victim, DF should focus on more constructive approaches to political discourse and criticism.
