DHMZ Issues Heat Alarms Across Croatia as Temperatures Soar to 37 Degrees Celsius

Croatia is bracing for a severe heatwave, with the national meteorological and hydrological service (DHMZ) issuing warnings across the country. Temperatures are forecast to climb as high as 37 degrees Celsius, particularly in Dalmatia, where a red alert is in place for coastal areas and an orange alert for the interior due to extreme heat.

Central and eastern Croatia are under a yellow warning, anticipating hot weather with temperatures reaching 33 to 35 degrees Celsius. Meteorologist Dragoslav Dragojlović from DHMZ noted that while most of the country will see sunny and hot conditions on Monday, there's a slight chance of brief showers in some mountainous regions.

The heat is expected to persist into the week, with little respite anticipated. DHMZ forecasts continued sunny and hot weather inland, with potential local instability. Coastal areas will remain hot, with some regions experiencing very high temperatures. Winds will vary, with a possibility of a northerly breeze developing later in the week.
