Diamondbacks win third straight behind Pfaadt's quality start and offensive surge

The Arizona Diamondbacks secured their third consecutive victory with a 10-6 win over the St. Louis Cardinals on Thursday. The team's offense exploded for 16 hits, providing ample support for starting pitcher Brandon Pfaadt.

Pfaadt, a former top prospect, overcame a shaky start where he allowed runs in the first inning. He settled down to pitch six innings, giving up two earned runs on seven hits while striking out one and walking two. This marked his second quality start of the season, lowering his ERA to 4.43.

The Diamondbacks' bats came alive in the fourth inning. Tim Tawa broke the scoring drought with a sacrifice fly, and Tyler Locklear followed with a two-run homer to give Arizona the lead. The offense continued to pour it on in the fifth and eighth innings, adding five runs in the latter to seal the win. Corbin Carroll, a star player, hit a crucial triple in the fifth, and Gabriel Moreno drove in another run with a sacrifice fly.

Four players, including Moreno, Adrian Del Castillo, Ildemaro Vargas, and Locklear, each recorded three hits, a performance known as a "mouda shang" (猛打賞) in Chinese baseball terminology, meaning they hit three or more times. Only two players in the starting lineup, Geraldo Perdomo and Max Kepler, failed to get a hit. Nolan Arenado added an RBI hit in the ninth to extend the lead, and despite a late rally by the Cardinals in the bottom of the ninth, Ryan Thompson closed out the game for Pfaadt's fifth win of the season.
