Diaspora in verse - Foreign minister lauds journalist’s tribute to Jamaican community overseas

Foreign Minister Kamina Johnson Smith has praised a literary tribute to Jamaicans living overseas, calling Garfield Angus’ work an inspirational celebration of the country’s global community.

Angus, a senior reporter at the Jamaica Information Service, wrote “Out Of Many, One Global Family: The Diaspora Rise.” The narrative poem focuses on the enduring bond between Jamaica and its diaspora.

Johnson Smith said she was deeply appreciative of the work and that it captures the strength of that connection in a distinctly Jamaican voice.
