Díaz-Canel Denounces U.S. Aggression During Meeting with Chinese Communist Party Official

Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel held a significant meeting with Liu Haixing, a member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and head of its International Department. The encounter took place at the Palace of Conventions in Havana, just before the opening of the first International Colloquium "Fidel: Legacy and Future."

During the meeting, President Díaz-Canel strongly denounced what he termed a "multidimensional war" waged by the United States against Cuba. He detailed how the U.S. has intensified its blockade, describing it as reaching "maximum pressure" levels. Díaz-Canel also condemned what he called a "criminal energy blockade," explaining that U.S. sanctions on international companies hinder Cuba's access to essential resources for its economic and social life.

The Cuban leader explained that this intensified U.S. pressure has significantly stalled the Cuban economy, deteriorated key social programs, and caused deaths. He further described the complex energy situation, characterized by prolonged blackouts, as part of a "genocidal and criminal program" meticulously calculated by the U.S. government, which is allegedly supported by a narrative constructed by the State Department to justify its aggression.

Díaz-Canel emphasized the high significance of Liu Haixing's presence during Cuba's commemoration of Fidel Castro's centenary. He stated that the visit is a clear expression of the historical bonds of brotherhood and friendship uniting the Communist parties of both nations, as well as the government, state, and people-to-people relations between Cuba and China.
