'Did you miss me?' Neymar jokes at Brazil training

Neymar playfully greeted the press with "Did you miss me?" as he joined his Brazilian teammates for their first training session at the 2026 North American World Cup. The star forward has been recovering from a muscle injury in his right calf for several weeks.

Upon his arrival at the Columbia Park training complex in Morristown, New Jersey, Neymar was welcomed with a guard of honor by the rest of Carlo Ancelotti's squad. He participated in light activities on the field with the team.

However, Neymar's debut in his fourth World Cup is still uncertain. Brazil is scheduled to play Haiti on Friday in their second Group C match. The 34-year-old former FC Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain player missed Brazil's opening match against Morocco last Saturday, which ended in a 1-1 draw in East Rutherford, New Jersey.

Neymar, who is the all-time leading scorer for the Brazilian national team with 79 goals, last played for his club, Santos of Brazil, in mid-May. He has not featured for the national team since 2023. On Tuesday, Neymar participated in his first on-field training sessions with Ancelotti's Brazil, working separately from the main group.
