Diego Valdés injures himself again and will miss Vélez's next match

Vélez Sarsfield's Chilean midfielder, Diego Valdés, is facing another setback due to injury, with reports indicating he will be sidelined for at least 10 days. This latest physical issue means he will miss Vélez's next fixture.

Valdés reportedly felt discomfort during Saturday's match against Boca Juniors, a game in which he had been a standout performer, notably scoring a spectacular free-kick goal. Despite his crucial contribution, he only played the first half, raising concerns within the team about his condition.

Following medical examinations conducted on Tuesday upon the team's return to training, the extent of his injury was confirmed. The recovery period is estimated to be around 10 days. Consequently, Valdés will be unavailable for the upcoming home game against Defensa y Justicia, scheduled for Monday at 18:15 local time.

However, there is optimism within the club that Valdés could be fit to return for the match against River Plate, which is set to take place on Sunday, August 23. The exact kickoff time for that fixture is yet to be confirmed.
