Chilean midfielder Diego Valdés continues to solidify his place in Vélez Sarsfield's starting lineup, playing the full 90 minutes in their 1-0 triumph over Independiente. The match, part of the third round of the Clausura tournament in Argentina, saw Valdés feature prominently.

Operating as an attacking midfielder, Valdés delivered a solid performance, celebrating Thiago Aguirre's decisive goal in the 70th minute. The victory extended Vélez Sarsfield's perfect start to the season, maintaining their streak of three wins in as many matches played in the tournament.

Fellow Chilean player Claudio Baeza also participated for Vélez, coming on as a substitute in the 88th minute.
