Digital transition and artificial intelligence: Tunisian associations face modernization challenges

Tunisian associations are grappling with the complexities of digital transformation and the integration of artificial intelligence, seeking to modernize their operations and enhance service quality. This was a central theme at the 7th National Meeting of the Tunisian Network of Associations (RTA) held in Sousse, which brought together representatives from public and private sector associations.

The meeting served as a platform for discussion on how these organizations can leverage digital transition and AI to improve social climate within companies, support members, and manage crises more effectively. Participants explored opportunities to update management methods, boost service quality for members, and strengthen principles of transparency, efficiency, and good governance.

Mounir Gharb, president of the RTA, highlighted that the chosen theme reflects the rapid changes in the world of work and the availability of new technological solutions. He noted that digital transformation offers a significant opportunity to improve member services while optimizing management and communication processes. This year's meeting was particularly significant as it coincided with the network's tenth anniversary.

A key outcome of the gathering was the signing of a framework agreement between the RTA and the Tunisian Federation of Travel and Tourism Agencies (FTAV). This partnership aims to establish a lasting cooperation to ensure that association members receive tourism services that meet high standards of quality, transparency, and professionalism.

Discussions also focused on governance and the legal framework governing associations. Anas El Héni, Inspector General of State, outlined the legal provisions and obligations for association leaders. Zakaria Hammouda, a judge at the Court of Accounts, addressed management failures and crisis prevention strategies, emphasizing the importance of rigorous governance, adherence to management rules, and accountability to ensure the sustainability of associations and protect members' interests.
