Dinamo Zagreb Dominates HNL Awards: Beljo Named Best Player, Kovačević Best Coach

Dinamo Zagreb striker Dion Drena Beljo has been named the best player of the season in the SuperSport HNL, Croatia's top football league. Dinamo Zagreb also secured the award for best coach, with Mario Kovačević receiving the honor, highlighting the club's dominance in the past season.

The awards ceremony, organized by the Croatian Football Federation and SuperSport, recognized top individuals chosen by club captains, coaches, a professional jury, and fans. Dinamo Zagreb led the accolades with four awards, including the main prizes for best player and coach. Beljo was also recognized as the top scorer and was included in the team of the season.

"Thank you to everyone who voted, I am truly proud. It wasn't easy from the start, the pressure was high, but my loved ones and teammates were with me in difficult moments," said Beljo. He expressed surprise at his goal tally, stating, "I believed in myself and my qualities, but if someone had told me I would score 31 goals, I wouldn't have believed them." His favorite goal was his first at Maksimir Stadium.

In the competition for best coach, Mario Kovačević of Dinamo Zagreb emerged victorious over rivals from the top of the table. "It wasn't easy, but everything is easier when you have quality staff and a good team," Kovačević commented after Dinamo's double crown win. "We must continue to work; I believe we will be even better next season."

Other notable awards included Marko Malenica of Osijek as best goalkeeper and Luka Stojković of Dinamo as the best young player. Toni Silić from Hajduk received the award for best save, while Tomislav Duvnjak of Varaždin scored the goal of the season. The team of the season featured a mix of top performers from across the league, underscoring a competitive and exciting HNL season.
