Dino Prižmić Earns Significant Prize Money With Roland Garros Second-Round Berth

Croatian tennis player Dino Prižmić achieved a significant milestone at Roland Garros on May 24, 2026, securing his first-ever main draw victory at a Grand Slam tournament. The 20-year-old, ranked 71st in the ATP, convincingly defeated 22-year-old American qualifier Michael Zheng (ranked 146th) in the first round.

The match, which lasted one hour and 45 minutes, saw Prižmić dominate from the start. He secured the first two sets with identical 6-1 scores, conceding only two games. While Zheng offered more resistance in the third set, even breaking Prižmić's serve, the young Croatian quickly regained control. Prižmić closed out the match decisively, winning the final two games without dropping a point.

This victory marks a breakthrough for Prižmić, who had previously been eliminated in the first round of the Australian Open twice (2024 and 2026) and the US Open once (2025). As a former junior Roland Garros champion, his senior main draw debut was highly anticipated.

Prižmić's performance earned him 130,000 euros in prize money. Should he advance past the second round, his earnings will increase to 187,000 euros. To date, Prižmić has accumulated over one million euros in career prize money from various tournaments.
