Director Park Chan-wook's works to be published as screenplay collection

Fans of acclaimed director Park Chan-wook will soon be able to delve into his cinematic universe with the upcoming publication of 'Park Chan-wook Screenplay Collection.' The nine-volume set is scheduled for release on July 10, offering a comprehensive look at the filmmaker's distinctive storytelling.

The collection features the screenplays for many of his celebrated works, including 'Joint Security Area' (2000), 'Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance' (2002), 'Oldboy' (2003), 'Lady Vengeance' (2005), 'I'm a Cyborg, But That's OK' (2006), 'Thirst' (2009), 'The Handmaiden' (2016), 'Decision to Leave' (2022), and 'Brokeback Mountain' (2025). Notably, the scripts for 'Joint Security Area,' 'Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance,' and 'Oldboy' will be available in print for the first time.

The screenplay collection is being launched through a crowdfunding campaign on Wadiz, running from June 22 to 30. Publisher Euimunhaksa expressed enthusiasm for the project, stating that it will allow fans to "more enjoyably explore Director Park's world of work." Park Chan-wook, who served as the head of the competition jury at the 79th Cannes Film Festival in May 2026, is renowned for his visually striking and thematically rich films.
