Disliking Fat People? 140kg Homeless Man Slashes Passerby in Bangkok, Claims 'I Just Hate Fat People'

A random attack in Bangkok's Silom district has left a Vietnamese woman hospitalized after she was assaulted with a utility knife by a homeless man. The 29-year-old victim, who works in Thailand, was attacked outside a convenience store during lunchtime. The store manager immediately reported the incident to the police, stating the suspect had fled the scene.

Authorities quickly identified the assailant by reviewing surveillance footage from a nearby intersection. The man, who is approximately 30 years old and weighs 140 kilograms, was apprehended shortly after. Police found the weapon used in the attack, a utility knife, in his possession.

During his arrest, the suspect confessed to the assault, stating his motive was a dislike for overweight individuals. He reportedly told police, "I just hate fat people." He further explained that due to his own weight, he did not want others to be overweight and wished to be the sole overweight person.

The victim sustained injuries requiring 14 stitches but is reportedly not in life-threatening condition. The suspect has been detained and faces charges related to bodily harm.
