Disney's D23 Convention: X-Men cast revealed, sequels announced

Disney's D23 convention buzzed with major announcements, including the introduction of new actors joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe's X-Men. Adam Driver was revealed as the villain Nathaniel Milbury, while Sadie Sink will portray Jean Grey, Kit Connor is Cyclops, and Christopher Abbott takes on Professor Charles Xavier. The studio confirmed 'The X-Men' will hit theaters on May 5, 2028, with other cast members like Samara Weaving as Emma Frost and Maya Boyd as Storm also announced. Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige also teased footage from the highly anticipated 'Avengers: Doomsday,' slated for December 2028, which will unite the Avengers, Fantastic Four, X-Men, and Wakandan warriors against Doctor Doom, portrayed by Robert Downey Jr. Ryan Gosling's appearance in 'Star Wars: Starfighter,' set for 2027, was also a highlight. Pixar unveiled new projects including 'Gatto,' 'Ghost Market,' and sequels 'The Incredibles 3' and 'Coco 2.' Disney Animation also presented 'Lilo & Stitch 2,' introducing Angel, and 'Frozen III,' with stars Kristen Bell, Idina Menzel, and Josh Gad in attendance. One fan, Gary Aurin, noted the prevalence of sequels, stating, 'It's Disney, so you have to get used to it.'
