Disoriented, he boarded the subway, traveled seven stations, and in a plaza, a dog walker changed his destiny: 'With his gaze, he told me everything'

A dog's disoriented journey on the Buenos Aires subway ended with a chance encounter and a heartwarming reunion, thanks to a vigilant dog walker and a bit of fate.

In September 2018, Christian Brizi, a professional dog walker, was working in the Plaza Del Ángel Gris when he was alerted to a small black dog that had been placed in a kennel to avoid being hit by a car. Brizi agreed to look after the dog temporarily. Upon his return, he found the dog huddled and hiding, visibly unwell with significant hair loss from his time on the streets, though he was neutered, suggesting a past home.

Against expectations, the dog, whom Brizi would later name Morci, allowed himself to be leashed and taken home. Later that day, Brizi's mother visited and was astonished. She had seen the same dog boarding a subway train at Plaza de Mayo station earlier that morning. The dog had seemingly boarded the Line A train, traveled across the city underground, and disembarked in the very neighborhood where his rescue awaited.

Morci, estimated to be around four years old, gradually adapted to his new home, initially seeking refuge in quieter spots like the balcony or bathroom. He received necessary medical attention for his skin condition, but Brizi emphasizes that "the main need was love, which cures everything." Morci quickly bonded with Brizi and his other dog, Lobita, becoming an inseparable part of the family. "He told me everything with his eyes; I knew what he wanted!" Christian recalls fondly.
