Dispute over YouTuber: Violence at 'Schanzenfest' surrounding 'Drachenlord'

A police operation unfolded in Emskirchen, Bavaria, as thousands of people converged for a "Schanzenfest" event, despite official prohibitions. The gathering is centered around the controversial YouTuber known as "Drachenlord," whose former residence is in the small town. This event marks a continuation of years of unrest plaguing Emskirchen due to the online personality.

Police described the atmosphere as highly aggressive, reporting insults, physical attacks, and the throwing of firecrackers, some of which were directed at police horses. Authorities deployed significant resources to prevent attendees from entering the town itself. While the majority dispersed by mid-afternoon, the event led to several arrests and underscored the ongoing tension.

This is not the first time such a large gathering has occurred. In August 2025, a similar event drew up to 4,000 people. In response to the persistent issue, authorities extended a previous order that prohibited gatherings of more than eight people. Despite these measures, the police were unable to completely prevent the assembly.

The conflict between "Drachenlord" and his opponents has simmered for years, fueled by the YouTuber's provocative online content and extreme views. The local police have been frequently called to the scene over the years to handle disturbances, property damage, and physical altercations. Although the YouTuber has sold his house and relocated, the "Schanzenfest" tradition and the underlying animosity continue to draw crowds and necessitate police intervention.
