Doctor Doom's immense power revealed in 'Avengers: Doomsday' trailer

Marvel Studios has offered a glimpse into the formidable power of its next major antagonist, Doctor Doom, in new footage from 'Avengers: Doomsday' shown at D23. The trailer centers on Victor von Doom, portrayed by Robert Downey Jr., marking his return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe after over a decade.

The preview depicts Doom effortlessly repelling an attack from Thor and subsequently unleashing an army of Sentinels. "Hell answers to me, I am Doom," the character declares, establishing his intent to be more than just another Avenger foe.

The trailer also hints at a personal tragedy fueling Doom's vengeance. A scene shows him alone on his throne, with an image of a woman and child suggesting a profound loss. Reed Richards confronts him about the destruction of a city, asking, "Victor, did you do this?"

The film, helmed by the Russo brothers, will feature a cast spanning different eras of the UCM, including Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Letitia Wright, Pedro Pascal, and Vanessa Kirby. The trailer has already sparked fan theories about potential Doom variants and his connection to Tony Stark. 'Avengers: Doomsday' is slated for release on December 18.
