Doctor Reveals Most Harmful Nicotine Habit: Cigarettes Are Clearly the Worst

A medical expert has declared traditional cigarettes the most dangerous method of nicotine consumption by a significant margin. Dr. Rayyan Zafar explained that the harm stems not just from nicotine but from the combustion process and the thousands of toxic chemicals released when tobacco burns.

These burning byproducts can severely damage the body, leading to various cancers, including lung, throat, and oral cancers, as well as cardiovascular diseases like heart attacks and strokes. Dr. Zafar emphasized that "there is no safe level of cigarette smoking," and even occasional use can cause disproportionately large cardiovascular damage.

While cigarettes are the worst offender, vaping and nicotine pouches are not without risks. Vaping has been linked to reduced red blood cell function and blood vessel inflammation. Concerns are growing about the increasing number of young people hospitalized for vaping-related illnesses.

Nicotine pouches are considered potentially the least harmful of the three, but Dr. Zafar cautioned they are still detrimental to health. Long-term effects are not yet fully understood due to their relatively recent market presence. However, studies have already identified issues such as gum irritation, mouth sores, and lesions.
