Dodgers' Cy Young winner Blake Snell to return Tuesday; Tarik Skubal to debut Monday

Los Angeles Dodgers manager Dave Roberts announced that two-time Cy Young Award winner Blake Snell is scheduled to return from the injured list on Tuesday. Snell is expected to pitch against the Kansas City Royals when the Dodgers host them at home.

Roberts also confirmed that Tarik Skubal, a recent acquisition for the Dodgers, will make his home debut on Monday, also facing the Royals. Skubal, who has won the last two American League Cy Young Awards, was traded to the Dodgers from the Detroit Tigers at the trade deadline. He made his first start for the Dodgers on the road against the Chicago Cubs, allowing two runs over six innings in a 5-1 loss.

Snell, 33, has had a challenging season, having only started one game. He began the season on the injured list with shoulder fatigue, returned for a single start on May 9 against the Atlanta Braves, and subsequently underwent surgery to remove loose bodies from his elbow. Snell has experienced significant injury setbacks over the past three years, with only 32 regular-season starts.

Despite his limited availability, Snell played a crucial role in the Dodgers' consecutive World Series title run last season. He recorded 41 strikeouts in 34 innings pitched with a 3.10 ERA during their championship campaign.

The Dodgers are currently on a six-game losing streak, their longest of the season, heading into their Friday night game against the Arizona Diamondbacks.
