Dodgers Option Pitcher Seth Halvorsen to Triple-A After Strong Debut

The Los Angeles Dodgers have optioned pitcher Seth Halvorsen to Triple-A, just one day after his impressive debut with the team. Halvorsen, who was acquired from the Colorado Rockies at the trade deadline, pitched a scoreless inning in relief during Wednesday's game, earning his first win as a Dodger. His fastball was clocked at 101.3 mph (163 km/h) during the outing.

Despite the successful debut, Dodgers manager Dave Roberts stated that the move was a strategic decision to strengthen the team's bullpen. With the Dodgers currently operating with a six-man starting rotation, the bullpen is one pitcher short of its ideal configuration. Roberts indicated that Halvorsen's demotion is temporary, assuring that the right-handed pitcher "will be back at some point."

Halvorsen, 26, has a season record of 1-1 with a 4.50 ERA in 22 appearances. He has recorded 17 strikeouts over 20 innings pitched, while also issuing 16 walks and allowing a .262 batting average against him. His WHIP (walks plus hits per inning pitched) stands at 1.90.

The corresponding roster move saw right-handed pitcher Landon Knack, 29, recalled to the majors. Knack has appeared in two games for the Dodgers this season, pitching five innings with a 9.00 ERA, giving up five runs.
