Dolores Blaquier Celebrated Her 84th Birthday Surrounded by Family and Friends at La Concepción

Dolores Blaquier Nelson marked her 84th birthday with a joyous celebration at La Concepción, the family estancia located in Lobos, approximately 140 kilometers from Buenos Aires. The event was a vibrant gathering of family and friends, filled with laughter, games, and warm camaraderie.

The birthday girl, affectionately known as Lola by her inner circle, was delighted by the weekend-long festivities. The celebration, which officially fell on Friday, July 3, extended throughout the weekend as visitors arrived to stay at the estancia's splendid manor. Neighbors from the local town also joined to offer their greetings, accompanying Lola as she repeatedly blew out candles on two delicious cakes prepared by her youngest daughter, Concepción Cochrane Blaquier. One cake was a rich brownie with cream and dulce de leche, while the other was a meringue with strawberries.

Lola expressed her sheer delight throughout the celebration, embracing the spirit of "celebrating life" with infectious energy and a constant smile. Among the attendees was her son, Giuseppe Vianini, who had recently arrived from Italy. Her sister, Teresa “Teté” Blaquier Nelson, was also present, sharing in the joy of the occasion. Grandchildren, including Rufino Matienzo and Vicente and Santiago Vianini, were there to celebrate with their grandmother.

The guest list also included Lola's nieces, Ginette Reynal and Agustina Braun Blaquier, who attended with her daughter Luisa Demarchi and boyfriend Alejandro “Jandri” Blaquier. Close friends such as Margarita “Ma” Southam, interior designer Gerard Confalonieri, Fabián Ledesma, Matías Martins, Father Carlos Barreiro, Lucas “Lulo” Menéndez, and Josefina Roca were also part of the committee of guests. The day featured an aperitif served on the gallery, followed by a main course of lamb and roasted meat with a variety of salads. In the afternoon, a Canasta tournament took place, with Lola partnering with Confalonieri for a fun and competitive game, punctuated by the arrival of more friends and the opening of gifts.
