Dominican Army reopens three border posts, activates helipad

The Dominican Republic's Army has completed renovations on three key border posts: Guaroa, Aniceto Martínez, and Pirámide 204. Army Commander Major General Jorge Iván Camino Pérez personally oversaw the handover of these upgraded facilities during a tour of military installations in the provinces of Elías Piña and Independencia.

The initiative also included the activation of a new helipad at the El Aguacate detachment, located in the Sierra de Bahoruco. This addition is intended to bolster the operational response capabilities and logistical support for units stationed in the sensitive border region.

During his tour, Major General Camino Pérez visited several other detachments and posts, including those in Bánica, Hondo Valle, and Cañada Miguel. The reinauguration of Aniceto Martínez saw the attendance of local civilian and military authorities, highlighting the importance of these infrastructure improvements for border security and regional stability.
