Donald Trump says medical exam went 'perfectly' amid health questions

Donald Trump declared that his latest medical examination proceeded "perfectly," just days before his 80th birthday and amid increasing questions about his health.

The former president underwent a three-hour check-up at a military hospital near Washington. "Everything went PERFECTLY well," Trump posted on his Truth Social platform. The White House has not yet released a detailed medical report, and the level of detail in future disclosures remains at the executive's discretion.

Trump has consistently emphasized his vitality as a core component of his political persona, frequently using it to draw a contrast with his Democratic predecessor, Joe Biden. Despite maintaining a vigorous schedule of domestic and international travel, Trump has a persistent bruise on his right hand, which he attributes to routine aspirin use for cardiovascular health. The White House has also disclosed that he suffers from chronic venous insufficiency, a common and benign condition causing swelling and cramps.

This is Trump's third medical examination since taking office in January 2025, following a semi-annual pace rather than the annual visits of his predecessor. A bulletin after his October 2025 medical visit stated he was in "excellent health" with a cardiac age approximately 14 years younger than his actual age. However, the Democratic opposition often points to videos of Trump appearing to doze off during meetings and questions his mental fitness, citing his often-violent or disjointed posts on Truth Social. While public concern about Trump's health may not be as sustained as that surrounding Joe Biden's age-related incidents, many Americans reportedly harbor doubts about his faculties.
