Dongtan Stationery Shop Allegedly Sold 10,000-Won Table Tennis Paddles for 140,000 Won and Refused a Refund

A seventh-grade student bought two table tennis paddles for 140,000 won at a stationery shop in Dongtan, after entering the store to purchase equipment for a school physical education class.

According to a report posted on an online community on the 6th, the paddles had no price tags. The student's parent said the boy did not know the price before handing over his card, and that the store did not tell him the price or display one clearly.

The parent said the boy first asked the shop owner where the table tennis paddles were. When he could not find them, the owner located the paddles and handed them to him. The boy also selected table tennis balls and pens before paying.

The family requested a refund as soon as the payment was made, but the shop allegedly rejected the request. The report identified the student as a first-year middle school student and placed the shop in Hwaseong, Gyeonggi Province's Dongtan area.
