Donovan Duckie leaves Chapleton Maroons

Donovan Duckie has stepped down as head coach of the Chapleton Maroons, ending his one-season tenure with the Jamaica Premier League club. Duckie submitted his resignation on Thursday, effective immediately, leaving the club to seek a new leader for the upcoming season.

Appointed in August 2025, Duckie's time with the Clarendon-based club concluded after just one year. In a letter addressed to club president Kaycie Butler, the widely-traveled coach described his decision as difficult but necessary for his "personal and professional growth."

This decision was not an easy one, but after careful consideration, I believe it is the right step for my personal and professional growth.

Duckie expressed his sincere gratitude for the opportunity to lead Chapleton Maroons. "It has been an honour to work with the players, staff and management during my time as head coach," he stated, reflecting positively on his experience with the team.

A former head coach for the National Under-20 team, Duckie has a notable coaching history in the Premier League, having previously managed clubs such as Mt Pleasant FA, Montego Bay United, Humble Lion, Waterhouse, and Vere United. He also coached at the schoolboy level with Manchester High.
