DPR Honorary Council Chairman Denies Link to MBG Corruption Case

Banda Aceh – Nazaruddin Dek Gam, the Chairman of the House of Representatives' Honorary Council (MKD) and a politician from the National Mandate Party (PAN), has vehemently denied any involvement in the alleged corruption case surrounding the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) program at the National Nutrition Agency (BGN).

Dek Gam's denial comes after his name reportedly appeared on a list circulating on social media and digital platforms, linking him to suspect Sony Sanjaya, who is implicated in the MBG corruption case. The politician expressed surprise at the inclusion of his name, stating that the information is false and lacks any factual basis.

Initially, Dek Gam stated he did not wish to address the circulating rumors. However, he felt compelled to clarify the situation as the information continued to spread and potentially mislead the public. "It's not true, why would I manage the MBG kitchen?" Dek Gam said when asked for his response, emphasizing his lack of connection to the program's operations.

He asserted that he has no part in the management or implementation of the MBG program, which falls under the BGN's purview. Dek Gam urged the public to exercise caution when consuming and disseminating unverified information, particularly that found on social media. He stressed the importance of allowing law enforcement agencies, such as the Attorney General's Office, to conduct their investigations transparently and without undue influence.

Dek Gam called for public support for a transparent investigation into the case, stating, "Leave it to the Attorney General's Office, let the investigators do their work. And let's all oversee this case together." His statement aims to quell speculation and reinforce trust in the legal process.
