Dr KC to be hospitalised as health deteriorates

Dr. Govinda KC, a prominent activist known for his advocacy for medical education reforms, is facing a critical health situation during his 24th hunger strike. On the third day of his indefinite fast in Dhangadhi, Kailali, doctors reported a significant drop in his blood sugar level to 50 and below-normal blood pressure.

His aide, Dr. Amrit Jaisi, stated that healthcare workers have strongly advised immediate hospitalization. The critically low sugar and blood pressure levels pose a risk of further complications, necessitating close monitoring and treatment. Preparations are underway to admit Dr. KC to the Seti Provincial Hospital in Dhangadhi.

Dr. KC initiated this hunger strike to demand comprehensive reforms in Nepal's medical education and health sector. His persistent activism, often involving prolonged hunger strikes, highlights deep-seated issues within the country's healthcare system. This latest strike underscores the urgency of his demands and the personal toll his activism takes.
