Dragon Rojo Jr.'s Past Life as a Teacher Before Wrestling Stardom

Long before donning a mask and becoming a prominent figure in the Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL), Dragon Rojo Jr. pursued a different passion: teaching.

For eight years, he dedicated himself to physical education, finding particular joy in working with kindergarteners. His teaching philosophy, 'learning through play,' involved using traditional games to develop children's physical capabilities. He also taught at primary, secondary, and preparatory school levels, emphasizing healthy eating habits and engaging his students with his presence.

Teaching was my second passion. My favorite level was kindergarteners; my goal was to develop their physical abilities through games. My philosophy was learning through play, so I organized traditional games. I taught them about good nutrition and they got excited when they saw me enter the classroom. I also worked in primary, secondary, and preparatory school, for eight years.

This period as an educator left a lasting impact on Rivas Castro. He notes that many former students have reconnected with him via social media, seeking greetings, photos, or simply to express their continued support. This connection brings him considerable satisfaction.

He fondly recalls teaching in Mapimí, a town in Durango known for its strong traditions. Seeing his former students grow into successful individuals fills him with pride, underscoring the positive influence he had beyond the wrestling ring.

Many write to me on social media and are surprised. When I go to Torreón, they come to see me. They ask for greetings, photos, and merchandise. I taught in Mapimí, a town with a lot of tradition in Durango. Seeing that they have become good people makes me proud.
