Dragonas IDV take first-leg advantage in Women's Superliga final

Dragonas IDV seized the early advantage in the Superliga Femenina 2026 final, securing a decisive 2-0 victory over Guerreras Albas on Saturday, August 22. The match, held at the Estadio Rodrigo Paz Delgado, saw Independiente del Valle's team take a significant lead heading into the second leg.

Karen Páez opened the scoring for Dragonas IDV around the 10-minute mark, capitalizing on a defensive error by Liga de Quito. The situation worsened for Guerreras Albas just before halftime when Ariana Lomas received a red card for a foul on Páez. The injured Páez was substituted by Kerly Corozo, who proved instrumental early in the second half.

Corozo extended the lead to 2-0 in the 46th minute, and Dragonas IDV maintained control against an Albas team that struggled to break through the visitors' defense. Dragonas IDV dominated possession, holding over 60% of the ball compared to Albas' 40%.

Dragonas IDV will host the second leg on Saturday, August 29, at the Estadio Banco Guayaquil, aiming to secure their third consecutive national title. The team previously defeated Guerreras Albas in the 2025 final.
