The criticism also came from Sandro Sabatini, a well-known journalist who appears on Italia 1 programs. “Drăgușin does not look like a top defender. He is overrated!” Sabatini said during a YouTube program. He argued that Fiorentina had recruited many players capable of starting, along with substitutes, but identified Drăgușin as the one signing he would not have made.

Drăgușin is on loan from Tottenham until the end of the season. Fiorentina paid €1.5 million for the deal and could make the transfer permanent in 2027 for €17.5 million if certain conditions are fulfilled. His position in the starting lineup could come under pressure in the next matches.
