A police officer sustained serious injuries after being attacked with a sharp object during a domestic violence intervention in Kali, on the island of Ugljan. The incident occurred on Thursday afternoon, prompting an immediate response from law enforcement.

Authorities received the report of domestic violence on July 9th at 5:56 PM. Upon arrival at the family home, officers were confronted by a male suspect who assaulted the female police officer. She was transported to Zadar General Hospital, where her severe injuries were treated, and she remains hospitalized for further care.

Officers managed to subdue the suspect using force, arresting him and bringing him to the police station. The Zadar Police Department confirmed that a criminal investigation is ongoing. Unofficial reports indicate the suspect is an older man who met the officers armed with a knife.
