Dream Como Beat Genoa 4-1 to Go Top for One Night

Como turned an early setback into a commanding 4-1 win over Genoa at Marassi, moving to the top of Serie A for at least one night.

Genoa struck first in the 19th minute. Baldanzi sent Colombo forward on the left, and Colombo delivered a low cross for Osmajic to finish first time past Butez.

The lead lasted only six minutes. Valle found Baturina inside the area, and the Como player beat Bijlow with a powerful diagonal shot into the corner. Como then completed the turnaround in the 30th minute, when Valle crossed and Diao met the ball on the volley after Ostigard could only deflect it.

Nico Paz added a third shortly before halftime. Couto found the Argentine on the edge of the offside line, and Paz beat Vasquez before lifting the ball under the crossbar.

Genoa coach Daniele De Rossi made a change at the interval, sending on Vitinha for Sabelli, and his team began the second half aggressively. The pressure produced little, however, and Como continued to threaten. Diao completed the scoring in the 80th minute after Nico Paz played Kean into space and the former Fiorentina player set up the finish.

The result gave Como a clear victory in the match that opened the third round. For Genoa, it brought a third loss in three matches.
