Mexican Formula 1 driver Sergio "Checo" Pérez paid an emotional tribute to the victims of the recent devastating earthquakes in Venezuela. Ahead of the Austrian Grand Prix, Pérez adorned his helmet with a sticker featuring the Venezuelan flag, a poignant symbol of solidarity with the nation grappling with the aftermath of the disaster.

Pérez utilized his social media platforms to share an image of his helmet, prominently displaying the name "Venezuela" on the front. The driver's tribute comes at a critical time for Venezuela, which was struck by two powerful earthquakes on June 24. Official reports indicate that the tremors have claimed the lives of more than 1,400 individuals, with rescue efforts ongoing for dozens still missing. The earthquakes have also caused widespread material damage, with nearly 1,500 infrastructures reported collapsed or severely damaged, leaving over 3,100 families displaced.
