Drivers Warned of Road Closures in Astana Due to Charity Run

Residents and drivers in Astana are being alerted to upcoming traffic disruptions as the capital city prepares to host a large-scale charity run this Sunday, August 9. Several key routes will face temporary closures to ensure the safety and smooth execution of the event.

According to the organizers, traffic on Turkistan Street, specifically one lane heading towards Abu Dhabi Plaza, will be partially closed from 7:00 a.m. to 8:05 a.m. A more significant restriction will affect Uly Dala Avenue, which will be completely closed to traffic between 7:00 a.m. and 7:40 a.m.

Further disruptions are expected on Akmeshit Street, where one lane leading to the Expo site, the designated finish area, will be closed from 7:10 a.m. to 9:15 a.m. The organizers are urging all motorists and pedestrians to plan their journeys accordingly and factor in these temporary road closures.

This event is part of a series of road closures in Astana. Notably, a section of Almaty Street between Akmeshit Street and Sauran Street has been fully closed since July 20 and will remain so until the end of 2026. Additionally, traffic on Almaty Street between Akmeshit Street and Turkistan Street has been restricted since June 18, also with a completion date in 2026.
