Drunk driver kills motorcyclist in Kaohsiung after illegal turn

The incident occurred when the truck driver, identified by the surname Xu, began driving from a nearby gravel warehouse onto Wujia 2nd Road. He allegedly crossed a double yellow line to make an illegal left turn, failing to yield to a motorcyclist traveling straight. The collision resulted in the 36-year-old motorcyclist, identified by the surname Huang, sustaining severe head trauma. He was rushed to the hospital but succumbed to his injuries. Police administered a breathalyzer test to Xu, which indicated a blood alcohol content of 0.11mg/L. Authorities are investigating the motorcyclist for possible speeding. Surveillance footage from the surrounding area is being reviewed to determine the exact cause and responsibility for the accident. Police urged drivers to remain vigilant of surrounding traffic, yield to vehicles in motion, and adhere to speed limits to ensure road safety.
