Officer Chen Guoming was attempting to stop the suspect, identified as Shi, who was preparing to drive away from his residence. When Chen moved to intercept the vehicle, Shi allegedly accelerated, hitting the officer and pinning his legs beneath the car. Despite the excruciating pain and inability to stand, Chen drew his weapon and fired a shot into the air to alert his colleagues and prevent the suspect's escape.

Officer Zhao Bingyi immediately responded, striking the car window with his baton and ordering Shi to stop. However, Shi continued to drive, running over Chen's legs. Zhao pursued the fleeing vehicle, while Chen, enduring his injuries, fired the warning shot. The suspect briefly stopped, allowing Zhao to break the car window and apprehend Shi.
