Drunk Woman Hit by Car on Road, Left Unconscious in Gapyeong

A woman in her 20s is in a critical condition after being struck by a vehicle while lying intoxicated on a road in Gapyeong-gun, Gyeonggi Province. The incident occurred around 1:35 AM on February 17th. A resident discovered the woman, identified as Ms. A, bleeding profusely and with severe facial injuries on a road near a pension in Cheongpyeong-myeon.

Emergency services transported Ms. A to a nearby hospital, where she remains unconscious. Investigations, including a review of CCTV footage from the area, revealed that Ms. A had been lying on the road for approximately 30 minutes before being hit by a passing car. The driver of the vehicle, Ms. B, also in her 20s, was located by police and is currently being questioned.

Authorities confirmed that Ms. A and Ms. B did not know each other prior to the incident. There is currently no indication that Ms. B was driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Police are continuing their investigation, considering Ms. A's condition and Ms. B's awareness of the accident, to determine the appropriate charges.
